YES! It’s that time of year again, when we start thinking about Christmas shopping and how we might also able to grab a bargain or two by taking advantage of the pre-Christmas retail promotions.
Last year in 2017, saw online retail and ecommerce sales increase again on Black Friday 2017, up by +11.7% to £1.39bn, according to data from IMRG. The likes of Amazon steamed in front of the market share with their retail promotions, whilst eBay, Argos, John Lewis and Curry’s shared a smaller presence, closely followed by other known retail brands such as Debenhams, Next, ASOS, Tesco Direct & Boots.
As retail businesses seek to adopt the USA’s retail promotions and philosophy in terms of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the increase in Christmas shopping sales between the dates and over the weekend has notably shifted from December to November as more and more consumers focus on grabbing their bargains over the specified days.
In conjunction with the November pay day, this year the dates are firmly set in the diary and UK retailers across the country large or small, are busy putting their final preparations in place to entice us into their stores and kick start Christmas shopping season.
Retail Promotions 2018 Diary Dates:
- 23rd November – Black Friday
- 26th November – Cyber Monday
- 2nd December – Small business Saturday
- 15th December – Free Shipping Day
