As part of the UK’s cyber security strategy, 3 Universities have been recognised as Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR). These include University of Kent, King’s College London and Cardiff University. They have been identified by The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (ESPRC) for having “first-rate research with scale and impact”, according to the website’s recent press release – UK universities recognised for excellence in cyber security research.

This is extremely positive news for the UK which is now recognised globally as a country which is ‘leading the way in cyber security skills’ by being one of the safest places to operate online.

The 3 Universities will now join the existing 14 UK Universities who are already on board with the scheme in an initiative to form an integral part of the government’s cyber security strategy. By building our country as a centre of excellence for cyber security will not only help to create employment and thrive our digital economy but will also train the right candidates to protect both individuals, businesses and local authorities against national and international threats of the future.
