In an approach to back SME’s through post pandemic recovery, the UK Government have pledged to support with an IP Access Grant for those businesses who are looking to find assistance with protecting patents.

With a focused approach on ensuring that the UK are global leaders in innovation with research and development running as a central role in its expansion, the UK government are keen to invest and support UK business.

Open until 31st March 2022 and with grant values of up to £2500 + vat, companies will be able to cover professional fees for UK and abroad intellectual property applications for the following:

  • IP asset management
  • IP commercialisation
  • Agreements for franchising and licensing
  • Intellectual Property insurance
  • Handling information via non-disclosure agreements
  • IP strategy
  • IP Valuation
  • Advice for tax relief

 

IP Access Grant Qualification

Businesses must testify growth and innovation to be eligible for the IP Access Grant. They should demonstrate that they are technology led and have international enthusiasm to expand into global markets. Finally, they must have less than 500 employees

Should the business be successful in their application, then can then instruct an IP firm to manage their intellectual property requirements and grant funding.
