5G has created a platform for tech firm entrepreneurs
Provided by Birmingham-based company Sitenna and backed by the Y Combinator accelerator in Silicon Valley, the new roll out of 5G across the Birmingham region has formed the basis of a new IT revolution and helped to create a platform by which many West Midlands-based entrepreneurs can now launch new tech firm ideas and ownership. In a recent article in the expressandstar.com, Andy Street, the Mayor of the West Midlands, said: “The West Midlands was already the UK’s best-connected region for 5G and the fastest growing economy outside London”.
Furthermore, the West Midlands area is predicted to create an extra 52,000 tech roles by 2025 and also add £2.7 billion to the economy, according to the UKGOV website. Named as the fastest growing tech sector and supporter of ‘thriving digital industries’, developing digital skills and innovation, starting an innovative tech firm is becoming a lucrative career option.
